Have you ever peered up at the night sky and contemplated the vastness of the universe?
As you well know, we earthlings inhabit a single planet that orbits a single star - our sun.
But consider this...
According to NASA, there are approximately 100 billion stars just in our own Milky Way galaxy, and there as many as 2 trillion galaxies in the universe.
By anyone's calculation, that adds up to a mind-blowing number of stars.
Of course we can only see a tiny fraction of those stars with our naked eyes from our vantage point on the Earth's surface, but we can see vastly more of them via the magic of time-lapse photography.
The fascinating time-lapse video featured below shows a tiny portion of our Milky Way galaxy, and I find those views to be absolutely breathtaking. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
While you're watching the video be sure to keep in mind that all the stars you're seeing probably don't even equate to a drop of water in all the Earth's oceans compared to the total number of stars in the universe.
